Registration Costs

• $25 for up to 3 events for athletes under 10 (e.g. Team Kata, Ninja Belt Tag, and Pre-novice Kumite total price = $25)

• $35 for up to two Kata Events - (e.g. Kata current division and Kata one division total price = $35)

• $35 for up to two Kumite divisions - pending Age eligibility

• $10 for Team Kata

Note: Maximum registration fee of $75 per Athlete

In order to ensure that the check-in process is as efficient as possible, we will not be accepting any new registrations at the door. We ask that all registrations be submitted no later than one week in advance of the tournament date.

  • Ninja (5 - 7) - Kata, Kumite & Ribbon Kumite

  • Pre-novice (8 - 9) - Kata, Kumite & Ribbon Kumite

  • Novice (10 - 11) - Kata & Kumite

  • Youth (12 - 13) - Kumite only

  • Senior (18+) - Kata & Kumite

  • Team Kata (all ages)

• Grand-Prix / Elite​

  • Youth (12 - 13) - Kata & Kumite

  • Cadet (14 - 15) - Kata & Kumite

  • Junior (16 - 17) - Kata & Kumite

  • U21 (18 - 20) - Kata & Kumite

Check-in Times

All competitors are required to check in no less than 30 minutes before tournament start. Draw sheets for all divisions will be available by the check-in table for review.

Required equipment for all Kumite competitors

• The following protective equipment is compulsory: 2024 Competition rules

a) WKF approved mitts, one Competitor wearing red and the other wearing blue.

b) Gum shield.

c) WKF approved body protector (respectively male and female design as applicable)

d) WKF approved shin pads, one Competitor wearing red and the other wearing blue.

e) WKF approved foot protection, one Competitor wearing red and the other wearing blue.

f) WKF approved groin guards for male Competitors.

g)**NEW REQUIREMENT** For Competitors under 14 years of age the use of WKF approved WKF Helmet and External Chest Protector will be mandatory at KNB tournaments beginning September 2024  and optional until then.

All Kumite competitors are responsible for their own equipment, and must have both red and blue sets, including belts.

KNB will have some helmets available for sharing

Any competitor can register to compete in a division above their current age appropriate division. This is subject to the following conditions:

1. The competitor must also be registered in their age appropriate division,

2. Kumite competitor must qualify to compete in that division within the next year.

3. Kata competitors can compete one level up

All Grand Prix / Elite divisions will follow WKF Rules (effective date January 1, 2024)
